I have only ever seen a Jay once...and that was on the Isle Of Wight...where I am a frequent visitor due to family over there. The flipping thing sat down at my feet...and in my excitement I fluffed every shot...I mean it was begging for a half decent snapper .. and it got me!

Great shots Leon... I remember when I was a kid my old grandad used to pick up those blue wing feathers and put them in the band of his trilby hat. There must have been far more Jays about in those days, I spend loads of time walking woods watching birds and I can't remember the last time I saw one of those blue feathers on the ground. I sure would pick it up if I ever do see one.

I always get confused between a jay and a jackdaw. Not to look at, I mean - it's just whenever I see a jackdaw (often) I think "Oh, there's a jay". Probably a 'letter J' thing. These shots make me realise that I just don't see jays at all.
