A LUSH LADY rescued

Recommended Posts

I could have kicked myself last week after a visit to Stratford-Upon-Avon, one of my favourite photography venues:

I'm not sure if any of you have a LUSH store close by? (I know Nanny does) .............they are havens of fantastic hand made, natural perfumes, soaps, bath bombs; mostly for the ladies, but, tucked away in corners are many masculine products.....if you can afford them, that is ;-)

After I bust both legs , I developed a plaster induced excema........this was quickly sorted by using LUSH Dream Cream, ideal because it is made from all natural product....enough of that.......

After my venture into the Tattoo Parlour the other week, I plucked up the courage to ask two of the lucious LUSH Ladies to pose for portraits.....amazingly two agreed..............all went very well (so I thought) I took the pics then  gave them my card....then my missus dragged me outside ;-)

Imagine my dissapointment on reaching home, when I realised I hadnt adjusted my ISO for low light conditions........this is the best of what could have been three very beautiful portraits.....the other two are beyond hep.

But this one, still appealed despite the slight OOF, so I did a rescue via various CS6 means including the....GAUSSIAN BLUR.

I think it has worked?

Do you?

Moral of this story?

Check you settings when excited ;-)

It works to a degree - but the fact it is not sharp in the original means it will remain that way.

There is a new feature in Photoshop CC that attempts to sharpen images in the sharpening tools (called "shake reduction") that can sometimes rescue images albeit creating sharpening artifacts that may tempt you not to bother!

I use an app called Back In Focus for sharpening, despite its counter-intuitive workflow. Personally I think your portrait would work better if you hadn't applied blur to a very nice neck/necklace, but maybe that's personal taste. It's certainly got potential.

Thanks folks.....look closely through he blurring and you will see that the necklace is totally OOF, the lass even had two nose rings before processing....I do recall, that another shop assistant was wrapping our items up just behind her.

I really should have taken more time, but my good lady gets embarrassed and fidgety, if I start to request portraits from strangers if we are out together.

I will take a print into the shop when I return, then hopefully be allowed to do better.

We live and learn.
