As you can see, my new Macro Rig is working just fine, the warmish sun af yesterday certainly teased out the more hardy of critters.

 

The Bluebottle was sunbathing on a metal dustbin lid, and was still fairly dozy, so posed quite happily:

 

Next.....My favourite species of Spider....a Jumper, the kind with headlamp-like eyes.....I discovered that if I put my finger in his sight line he would turn to face it, so I was able to manouvre him to get best shot.

 

These lovely little creatures (only 4-6 mm long) love to sun themselves on the sunny side of wooden fences....well worth seeking out:

 

Lastly, this more common Garden Spider, was obviously sunbathing, I noticed that he kept this, spread out position for over three hours and only weny in when the sun did:
