The high streets of many town centres are a shadow of their former selves with business after business going bust.

I drive to one of them each morning and yesterday while sitting in the car waiting for the lights to change I spotted a letter box with a little flash of colour under it.

Once I had parked I took a wander back up the street before gong into work and snapped this - the business may be gone, taking its sign with it, but the colourful tiles exposed are fantastic.

Our photography tutor told us "Every picture has a story to tell". This is a nice simple statement of the way things are going today.

Our little rural town of Wedderburn has many such stories of slipping into oblivion.
