I discovered both subjects very close together in our tiny back garden......it wasnt until I began processing the photographs I realised that.....

although they are from completely different species, one plant and the other gastropod?.......both sets of shiny spheres hold the beginnings of new life within.

The berries are from the Honysuckle that entwine our Wisteria and the Slug Eggs were directly below on the soil underneath a section of log.......it just goes to prove that photgraphy subjects can be discovered in the smallest of places:

Since I acquired my Macro lens and Raynox, I deliberately place short sections of log dotted around the garden, I lift them every so often to see what can be found underneath...............Usually it is woodlice, the odd spider, centipedes, millipedes and slugs.....look even closer and minute but cute Springtails and other tiny beasties come into view.

Both shots processed in my usual way finalised by selective sharpening in CS3:
