We wondered why.......

Yesterday morning we noticed that a small plank had been broken off our bird table. Yesterday arvo we heard the crunching that we usually get when the 'roos are visiting to clean up the birdseed, and ,although it was still full daylight, this is who was here. Definitely not one of our regular youngsters:

A bit blurry, because I had to take these through the fly wire door. I didn't want to move it, in case it startled him. This shows you better how big, how far away from the door etc:

He stayed around for quite a while, totally ignoring any movement we made inside the house, the dogs looking at him and even the cat sleeping on the verandah. The he showed us his developing pecs!!:

Guess it was he, who broke the plank off.  We'll be watching out for him on our walks round the block!!

Blimey Kobione, the things you find in your garden...it's a mini wildlife centre. Love the pictures, another wonderful set.

I could do with a roo to clean up after the birds in my garden...

I have been watching a series they have been showing on the box about the Tasmanian Devils, how they are re introducing new stock to keep the species alive. The fighting between the roos is quite scary to watch...and them Wombats with the bony bums. Fascinating stuff these Marsupials are.

Thanks all, glad it gave you a bit of interest and a smile!

Heather we have dried out so much that the 'roos are starting to get hungry. We're off to buy a couple of bales of hay for them tomorrow, in the hope that it will save a bit of garden.

bit like a Squirrel but bigger  ???

Just a bit, Colin, this one would be easily 5ft tall when he stands up!!

Thanks David - you will get to understand that most of my wildlife shots are 'grab shots', so not necessarily the best in quality, but you cannot set these things up. As long as people enjoy looking, that's fine!

Leon, our Fuball had a meeting with the fox I photographed a few weeks back and copped a couple of, fortunately, very minor injuries. She knows full well to leave these things alone.

H'mm, Fuji, I'll have to think on that one - what's next.

Annie some of the wildlife here is quite unique, and we always feel that we are living in their territory, and not the other way around!! We are so lucky to see things as we do. :D
