Finally managed a week off and this is the forecast - hoping for a day in The Lakes but I get the feeling I might not see more than a hundred yards which is going to limit the photography somewhat:

We went up to the New Birmingham Library again last Thursday because I wanted to see if I could get some shots from the highest balcony.
While we were on the train, the heavens opened and we thought that would be the end of our plans.
It was drizzling when we got there and all the time until we got to the 7th floor balcony.
After we had been there the weather changed and the sky cleared enough for me to get some shots.
Haven't had time to sort them out yet as been busy getting ready for my sister to come from Scotland on Monday, but the ones that I have had time to look at look ok,

Fingers crossed for you to have good weather for the lakes.
I hate it when we make plans only to have them scuttered by the weather..

I rarely rely on forecasts, nine times out of ten it will usually be OK.

They forecast rain and the sun comes out,  they forecast bright and dry, and it pees down!

It's The Lakes though.

When the forecast is rain - it snows.

When the forecast is sun - it rains.

When the forecast is snow - you're bu**ered.

I have procrastinated a lot waiting for a break in the weather - it is a mistake. Get out, grab those short breaks in the weather and make some spectacular moody shots.

We've just had torrential rain and some thunder.
Now there are two beautiful rainbows over the flats.

Likewise, we had one incredible thunderstorm early this evening, just as the sun was setting, the rain was torrential the sky extremely dark, together with thunder and lightning, followed by a golden sunset plus a double rainbow......I did get pics but haven't processed them yet.

The thunder was only a bit here, Fuji, but the rain was really bad and the same in the night too.
It's surprising how different the thunder was, considering that we don't live too far apart, isn't it?
