Male Ruddy Darter.

I had to work on this one as I'd used too much flash, it's not brilliant but I've made something out of a shot I nearly binned. I'm fairly sure it's a Ruddy Darter, I expect Bugs will know.

A nicely poised shot of this male and I'm fairly sure it's a ruddy.

The legs look to be all black instead of having the pale/yellow stripes of the common darter and the waisted appearance also leans in that direction. The orange patches at the base of the wings are not as prominent as I would have expected, but it's getting towards the end of the season so maybe they have faded, although the wings still look in good condition.
