I had never heard of a Steam Punk until I read these threads lol. Brilliant though.

I must admit to being fascinated by the sheer inventiveness and fun these Steam Punk artifacts reflect.......but another, more practical side of me,reflects........that.......as a National Serviceman ......I was FORCED to clean and polish lots of brass, copper, and leather, and to march and run about with heavy back- packs on.

The brass and copper, antiques trade has fallen because folks hate polishing those metals..... It was one of the most hated tasks done by servants and house maids in the past......next to emptying P-Pots that is.

We humans are a funny lot?.........if forced or are employed to clean metals, run about with heavy weights, wear masks and cluttered uniforms or run about in all weathers like sporty folk....we whinge.........but ...do exactly the same at weekends.......it's fine!

Goths worry me slightly......but ......Steam Punks ......are creatively fantastic, more power to their steam- powered mechanical elbows......as daft as they are.
