I don't think I have posted in this section before and it doesn't look like it sees many pictures either from the date of the last update.

I have long wanted a cricket shot in my portfolio, today I had my chance. Rain delayed the start of play and after only a few overs it started again; after standing in the rain for a few minutes and wondering if the game would be stopped the sun came through and even some blue sky.

This is brilliant.. I really like the timing... how did you manage to catch the ball like this. A fraction of a second later and the ball would have been below the tree line...

The trick with sports photography is to use two eyes, the right through the viewfinder and the left at the action; takes a bit of practice and you still need a it of luck sometimes.

and for me this shows how difficult those 'spot the ball' competition are, if you cloned out the ball I wonder how many of us would have thought it was there?
