This is normally one of the first 'hawker' dragonflies to emerge each year and I was incredibly lucky with this one.

i had been watching a damselfly flittering about when the dragonfly came in and took the damselfly on the wing, then dropped to the ground to eat it! Luckily I saw where he landed and was able to sneak a picture or two before he took off again.

I must say that I have really enjoyed learning about these little creatures from Bugs. and seeing Mr Ws  bluebottles and bees taking shape with his new camera..
Fujis portraits, macro and home made diffusers,, Annies birds,Johns, Puffins and so many others that I have got to know over the year that I have been on here,
It is one of the friendliest places I have been a member of.

It's such a lovely hobby and seeing so many people enjoying their hobby along with a nice forum to meet and for people to give encouragement.

There's no mallace, no jealousy and everyone gets on with everyone else.  so while I am enjoying of your pics,  a big thanks to everyone who keeps the forum ticking over nicely, and that includes the lovely pics that everyone posts on here and gets us through the long winters and the dreary summers when we can't get out with out camera's..

Thanks!

I'll get  down now.
