That is exactly what gets me angry at our local pool......because of the hundreds of families and well controlled dogs, all the water fowl and other birds are exceptionally tame and trusting.....then this kind of thing happens.....a dog doing this....is out of control and could equally do it to a small child, or knock one over in the rush.....just imaging if the dog had been tied to a puschair?

Cats don't do this;-)

I do not understand people's thinking, if they let their dogs behave like that! Do they think it's fun? Makes me very angry, too!! Fuji, as usual it's the 'troublesome 3%' that spoil it for everyone.

I saw totally the opposite today when  a young couple were in the park with their juvenile but strong looking  dog which they had on and extending lead, which had been locked to short enough length so the dog was kept quite near to them.
Within a split second the dog raced after a squirrel which was pottering about on the grass, broke his lead and raced into the bushes after the squirrel with the man who had been hold him in close pursuit.
I'll give that young man his due as he threw himself into the bushes to grab the dog before it got the squirrel.

Then he said to his girlfriend that they would have to take the dog home as he was having to hold him by the length of broken lead and he couldn't control him like that.
It was really nice to see an owner being responsible enough to get the dog in control as quickly as he could.
I hate it when some parents laugh at their children when they chase the ducks, pigeons and squirrels around while shrieking at the top of their voices.
It's an offence to let a dog off the lead in a built up area (not that many people keep to the rules.
I think it should be the same in parks where there are lots of people
