Roxy....Taking the High Ground

Recommended Posts

I've been reading a lot about composition this week and from what I've learnt this should not work because she's looking out of the frame. But it does, there is an air of anticipation as she looks beyond the frame, maybe dreaming of chasing rabbits. The colours of Roxy's coat and the background complement each other wonderfully. This is a great picture!

I agree with everything that you have said, Martyn. It's just right.

Thanks everyone

Martyn,

I cropped out my husband on the right, when I crop I always try to use the RoT grid and this is where she settled best. In order to use one set of rules,I had to break another. Maybe because she is sitting on the RoT it works

Rules are not set in stone and I think rules in photography are only guidelines.

This is a Cracking shot of a lovely pooch.....but....I reckon she is sitting up there because she would get her bum wet almost anywhere else in view.

FUJI

Spot on Fuji, bit of a Prima Donna when it comes to wet :)
