NEW(ish)PHOTO EDITING SOFTWARE

FUJI

Recommended Posts

Hi, Folks,

My working copy of Photoshop CS6 is getting very old now, I’m not sure how long it will continue fir, and I’m determined not to be sucked into paying monthly subscriptions.....

AFFINITY PHOTO....here will be the answer, it is equally as powerful fir a reasonable, one-off payment....has Live-Support and dedicated forums...bags of tutorials, like this one, on YouTube.

The interface looks very similar to CS6 but it’s like getting into a new car at first...all looks familiar but is slicker  and different in use.

Currently I have it installed on my iPad Pro.....so still learning..

Just take a little time to watch this intro tutorial to get the gist.

The beauty is Fuj, that if you use PS CC, the software is so similar that making the transition would be relatively painless and for the price you seem to get a lot of processing power  including Layers and RAW.  The only thought that occurs to me is its compatibility with the various plugin packages.  I use several of these and currently, Affinity Photo isn't listed in their compatibility lists but perhaps time will put that right.

This is a useful tip. I grudge paying, in total £120.00 a year, but I have been a bit reluctant to take a step into the unknown of new software. I may choose to bite the Affinity bullet.
