Hungry Fish

Recommended Posts

We were in Kenilworth (Fuji's patch) today at the Party in the Park to mark the end of the Kenilworth Festival.

We took our flask and sandwiches and sat by the lake to eat.
Just after we got there someone started feeding the ducks and geese. Then loads of very big fish started to tackle the ducks and some even pulled the bread from the birds mouths.
I tried to get a shot of the squabbles between the birds and fish but I only had my 18-55mm lens with me.

I did manage get this one when the fish was making off with his prize after grabbing it before a duck could get his beak round it.

Not a brilliant shot but it was fascinating to watch the squabbling over the food.

I would have loved to have got one of a fish snatching the food from the birds but I got a lot of near misses instead. lol

Nanny, Nanny, I was attempting to take very similar shots in exactly the same place a week or so ago.......just how many attempts did it take fr you to capture this excellent capture......you must be faster on the trigger than me?

The current stock of Carp have become very friendly and bold since last autumn, they are much bigger than folk imagine.....mind your fingers.

What a pity I didn't go to the park first :-(

I think I lost count after the first ten or so lol. I got one with a duck and a splash at the side of it where the fish had done a back flip after stealing the ducks food.
It's not a particually good shot and I had to brighten most of them up a bit to bring more detail out.

I'm not quick on the trigger, I have lost so many shots by taking my time, that I just take a chance now and hope for the best.

I still need more practice and some brighter weather to get to grips with the 3200 as even though I have a Nikon D3000 which is pretty much the same, I think I need to adjust the settings a bit differently to get better shots.
