SILLY ! OR WHAT ?

I can’t believe how I felt this afternoon.

For the first time in many months I put an Auto-Focus lens on to my camera......and I will be very honest, I didn’t like it one little bit......it all seemed just too easy.....not much thought required etc....it made me realise just how far I have come on my photographic journey as a member of TIPF.

I began with the cheapest, noisiest, slowest to focus Chinese-made bridge camera ever.....then moved to an early SONY Alpha.....then an upgrade from that....picking up lenses and kit along the way.

Until I found an exceptionally used, very cheap PANASONIC GF1  M/4/3 rds.....this led to my current GX7, plus all the essential auto-focus lenses...

But, it was after I learned about, then became hooked on collecting and using VINTAGE film camera lenses, all fully manual, requiring careful setting...

At first I was totally flummoxed, but after intense tuition for our BP, and my two other photographer pals I learned, then internalised the ropes....

I reckon now that I can fire away with the best of auto’s for most subjects....

It’s a funny old world.....I could have saved myself a few hundred quid ?
