Photoshop & Mini Bridge

Recommended Posts

I have an old copy of CS6 on my windows PC.

It's always had mini bridge running with thumbnails below my work area, an easy way to view and open shots.

Recently we made an attempt to clone my hard drive (failed) and eventually just replaced the original drive back into the PC.  Now, mini bridge opens along the bottom of my work space, but there are no thumbnails, and no explorer list to the left of the thumbnails as before. Theoretically nothing we did in cloning the drive should have effected it

Mini bridge is ticked in extensions in PS.  I can close it and open it, but cant get the thumbnails back.  Any ideas please?  It increases my work a lot, having to open bridge and choose shots

I'm loathe to deleted CS6 and re install it from my original download, just in case it doesnt work ... it's been on my PC for quite a few years :6_smile:

I’m going to guess and it is just a guess that Photoshop has forgotten which folder Bridge stores the images...a kind of virtual link as it were. Look in the preferences for PS and for Bridge to see if there is a folder selection option.

The other thing is check the defaults for file association within Windows as they might have ‘defaulted’ to another programme.

Are you loading CS6 from a CD or downloading it from your account?  It must still be there on a CD but as I say, knowing ADOBE, the latest download version may well have been modified.  It might be worth downloading a copy of REVO UNINSTALL.  That will clear out all of the application and any associated files.  Then reload your CD if that's what you have.  Check that it is present after the initial installation and then see if it is still there after you download the updates.

No, it's an original download on my PC from years ago.  I reinstalled it yesterday on my new W10 drive and although PS is working fine and the mini bridge window comes up at the bottom of the workspace, there are no thumbnails there.  I tried a cache rebuild in adobe bridge in case the cache had purged.  No different.  As said, it almost seems as if the link to the folder has been lost, but I cant find a place anywhere in preferences to link it
