Cornwall Unvisited

A small project of mine to record some of the places that we are now losing in Cornwall, this wonderful old characterful hotel is about to demolished.

That certainly is a great looking building.  It's fate is a shame.

Newquay has suffered more than some parts of Cornwall because they lost the family trade to Stag and Hen parties, they have rectified that now but sadly too late for some of the old hotels.

The stag and hen abomination.    It did develop a reputation.

That's a really worthwhile project Bearair ... It could figure  historically in the future.... I always think thank God someone took the time to both use a camera and save the pics and films when we see some of the  ageing footage from  precious archives  on tv every now and then ....  Keep up the good work ...

So good to record endangered buildings etc. I have lots of regrets and not photographing what are now redeveloped sites while I had the chance. To my shame this even includes my own house!

Stag and hen parties are bad enough but I have also heard that Newquay is a magnet for (often underaged)  kids overcelebrating the end of 'A' levels.

Thanks for the encouragement, it is something I regret not doing sooner we have lost some wonderful old buildings.

Unfortunately there are some incredibly irresponsible parents who allow there children to go on holiday and get blind drunk, often providing the alcohol for them. They then  wanted the town to put up fences around the cliffs to protect their drunken prodigy and of course blamed the town. They were never wanted in Newquay and now unless you look 25 you will not get served.

The hen and stag party Street Photography from Blackpool on TV recently just proves how far our society has sunk in my life time, current tv programs are going down the same foul route, and on seeing the current trailers for ITV 4 and 5 , it is going to get even worse..........no wonder so many of our young folk behave like they do ..or.....is it me??
