Yup ...Actually watching part 2 on the Platinum  printing process as we speak  ..( .recording the series )  some fantastic images from the Thirties.... And the cameras...  A very interesting series ... Well worth watching.

Excellent series. My only moan is that being British only, it doesn't feature the likes of Cartier-Bresson. Also, the first episode (which was also very very good) omitted the likes of Frank Meadow Sutcliffe at the expense of seeing Victoria and her brood. But well worth watching.

I got a shock in the second programme when they showed Bill Brandt's photo of miners' cottages in the NE - WITH NO WINDOWS!!! The stuff of nightmare. But superbly photographed.

Yes I expected some Sutcliffe Pics too Chris ...I  have a  beautiful print of two Victorian girls in a cottage doorway that  he took ...  Bill Brandt's  pic of the Miner's cottages  is seared into one's memory  though once you have seen it .. As you say ...what an excellent series so far ...
