That was what the day's event was called. It went very well for the tiny community .I co-escorted, two 3 klm walks, through quite rugged, harsh goldming country. This gives you an idea. These are Ironbarks:

The reason the tops of the trees look dead is because of the explosion in the population of these guys, this year. Every web thread is a caterpillar path:

You have to look closely, but there is beauty in this harsh place. A Chocolate Flower - tiny, but yes, they really do smell like chocolate!:

Grevillea:

Paper Daisies:

A Waxlip Orchid - less than 5mm across:

and one of the Hooded Orchids - even smaller:

On the way back we spotted this - "How do we make this thing work?" It's only plastic!:

Before we set off this little guy caught my eye - loved his expression:

His name is Duncan, and they were about to set off on a gold detector challenge. All in all a good day - if a little tiring!

Also nice to report, is that on Saturday I taught myself for the first time to use Lightscribe and print images on discs. I provided them with 10 copies of a photostory, put to music of the old photos they had given me to work with. We set a laptop up, showing the movie and I'm delighted to say they sold all ten. Please bear in mind this is not a technical audience we were selling to, mainly people who were raised in the area and came back to enjoy the day. :)

Thank you, Kate, Fuji. I'm quite pleased with some of the shots of tiny flowers. It was quite windy and the sun was in again/out again, but considering I'm only using a travel zoom, no extra lenses -then OK :)
