BELUGA going in to Birmingham Airport this morning

Recommended Posts

None times out of ten I have my Sony A55 with an 1.8/200 lens fitted, all set for most eventualities...just my luck then that this very strange plane flew over on approach to Birmingham Airport circa 8 miles away.

I only had my little LX5 set on f2 and has about 3X zoom; this is the best I could manage..........GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Chronikon, reckons that it is bringing A380 parts close to a motorway after the usualtransport ship ran aground.

I will keep an eye and ear on local news:

Noo

Don't have a vehicle now, but most take offs and landings are in full view of our house, sometimes ( like yesterday) very close....don't like flying, but love planes.

Many moons ago I was a regular at all the Bagington Air shows , when the incredible ....King's Cup Air Race was run.......planes of all makes and sizes hammering round a set course, turning on wing- tips as they negotiated the course markers.....I seem to remember that a Percy Blamire a Coventry garage owner being one if the favourites in his souped up monoplane?

All in the days of the very first jets.....the Meteor and the Vampire, and, as years progressed others almost as soon as they came off the production line.....exciting times.

I am often amazed at the ....Whisper Quiet ....of huge airliners like he Boeing 777 ......the Emirates one whispers over us twice a day......a fair bit noisier on take- off though.

you can get a train to Marston Green and its free.
When we go we take a picnic and flasks as there is a park around the airfiel and a couple of benches just in front of the landing strip.

I have an Aircraft album on  Photobucket and  you can see how low they come and the flight path.
