Testing new lens

My first attempt with this lens....shot taken at 5:1 MF.... the image is a granule of salt out of a salt mill and even that small the DOF is so so small as you will see looking at this image...more practise needed

Therein begins the fun part.

Focus looks fine, but as you discovered, the DoF is minimal. This where focus stacking software will play a part.

PS has it, but if you don't use PS, there is a free programme called CombineZP which stacks images.

Tried the combine software back a while and couldn't get on with it, or just didn't understand it lol ... I have got a copy of Zerene but it is very hungry when it comes to RAM, I run a 12gb ram machine with 6 core Athlon and it laboured quite bad when I started editing using the Zerene ... Am determined to get there though and although the results weren't altogether brilliant on this occasion I think I have made a good start... Not sure if I will be hand holding this lens like I do my 1:1 though lolol
