Since my full returement almost ten years ago now, I have been busy writing my life story for my family; they are keen because it begins pre WWII up to the present time:

Amongst my many archives I have all my Wartime School Photographs plus many more to the present day...Yesterday, I was sorting through these to form the cover of my memories:

The selection here see me change from a long haired toddler...a cheeky school kid.....my Harry Potter (long before he came about).......my Charles Hawtrey (Carry on Films)........Freddie of Freddie and the Dreamers......Sixties Flares and curls.....into the final ....Long Haired Arty-Farty Crafty old beggar that I remain today......Should I add a contemporary version you would see that time is still making ravages on this ever aging frame....I am pleased to note that I still retain my unruly mop of hair:

The old school ones make me realise what good photographers they were.......I am certain that they all used wooden plate cameras or Roliflex twin lens jobbies and had to shoot from underneath a black hood.

I started school after the war and I'm almost sure they still used the black cloths then.

how fascinating to see how you have changed and yet not changed as the years roll by and you grew up wish i had enough photos of me to do something like that ...wonder if i could do one for my son ....... hmmmmmmmmmm
