Its one big cover up hiding the old with the new,they have been rebuilding Brum for the last 60 years with glass and steel,beautiful old buildings holding so much craftmanship with memories being the victims and still building and demolishing,its a cold faceless dump,go out to the suburbs where the real problems lie,I was born there long ago and moved long ago with many thousands of other Brummies sick of all the changes and demolition of the true Brum and Brummies.......very nice pics though.

Birmingham city centre has been utterly transformed for the better since I first went there in 1970. The city is still vastly underrated with wonderful areas like the Jewellery Quarter, Gas Street canal basin, Edgbaston, Moseley, Bournville, Harborne etc. The one remaining eyesore in the centre was New St Station. It looks amazing now BUT...

...is it still the same dark, concrete monstrosity down at platform level? That's what made it such a depressing place to either embark from, disembark, or simply pass through.
