A couple that I took early one evening when the sun was shining directly at the Burnley War Memorial at Towneley Park. They haven't quite captured what I saw and through the viewfinder. They were ones I considered for the Public Art Challenge.

Thanks Judy, I do have an image that is a much tighter crop of the first, I also tried a landscape crop of the second image, while it;s better, it still doesn;t reallu capture the moment. The statues were really glowing in the late evening sun. Think I'll put them down to an almost shot, but just wanted to see what others thought of them.

Surpisngly enough they were taken on a late sunny afternoon about 5pm and the sun was shining directly at the statues, which face East and they were really glowing. The images just haven't quite captured the light. Thanks for the suggestions and comments, as I said I wasn't sure about these images and thought I'd seek a second or maybe 3rd opinion about them.

I'm pretty much with Judy on this one, RW.

I know the sculpture and I know how powerful it is, your shots don't do it justice I'm afraid.

I was there two weeks ago - two mates and myself walked from Townley Park to the Singing Ringing Tree (and back of course!). A lovely area of Lancashire.
