A manipulated shot of a visiting band of whom I've taken pics before, but last time, they played backs against a busy car-park so very difficult to take a decent shot.

Yesterday they were in the Square playing against a white wall, this helped.

 

This is just one of the manipulated studies done to promote them....if they like them, that is.

I will be sending them the straight shots too.

Very interesting processing. But once I'd noticed the missing top of the double bass my eye won't go anywhere else...

I like that processing very much, Fooj.

I can see Chris's point re the top of the bass, but for me it's no big issue.

It'd be interesting to see more images processed like this.

Nice take on the processing .... I am pleased to see more and more manipulation being accepted for it' s merit on a photographic forum...  I love  it !

Thank you all.......the processing was done in my usual manner then put through a TOPAZ simplify filter, one of the color ones I think .......I am sure that the band will love this, and similar conversions of their portraits .....they will receive the straight studies too.

The missing top of the bass? .....I must admit to not spotting that.....I will return to the original RAW file to see if I cut it off in the taking or later during cropping......thank you for pointing it out.
