Thanks Clicker, to be honest the image from the camera was a little disappointing and didn't really catch the textures, the overgrowness or the gloominess, so I did a few tweaks in Photomatix and then in PSP7, mostly just adjusting brightness/contrast that a bit of spot lightening/darkening the rgb.

Sometimes it's about seeing the place and getting the feel in the edit, althought I'd love to get as much in camera as I possibly can, sometimes you just can't. But that's one of the great things about digital photography

I don't have a problem with any amount of editing Rye ... I often use the camera as just one part of a process of creating something ... Most of my creativity centres around editing and it is there that  I have most fun ...I would hate to have everything come straight from the camera  every time .. I like the fact that tweaking your pic has made it more like what you "saw" ... Good job ..;)

To be honest it's no different than using dodge/burn/masking techinques in the darkroom in the days of film. I knew the look and feel I was after, some PPing made it possible. I like you enjoy the editing part of taking a photograph its part of the same creatieve process...

Umm, my office has suddenly been inaded by moths, I can see 6...

I grew up with dark room editing  ....  I agree exactly ...it's  the same process but digital ..... more refined now and easier !!

Ooooh .. don't like moths indoors ... such eratic flight paths..I 'd have to switch off the lights ....and run for it!
