Red Admiral Butterfly

One of the first this year of any kind of butterfly I've managed to photograph so far. There's been a definite lack up here in Lancashire.

It was also doing behaviour I'd never seen a butterfly do before, I've seen them chase off other butterlies, but never bees or a dragonfly....

Very nice capture... I've seen quite a few of these recently and photographed a couple but they were both a bit tatty, as I've already got better shots on file I didn't keep the shots. Last summer was much better for all butterflies, this one doesn't look like it will be as good... but you never know things still have time to improve.

Thanks John, I've just been looking back over shots I took this time last year and I'd already managed to photograph 8 different butterflies (and seen many more), plus 2 different moths and 4 different Damselflies - this year there has been a definite lack.
