We had a birthday........

Recommended Posts

Yesterday our eldest doggie, Kandy, (The Gentle Giant) celebrated her 11th birthday. Kandy girl is an oversize GSD, and has Degenerative Myelopathy, so we knew that anything over the 10 year mark for her was great. She had a lovely day - walk on what we call 'the beach', with her companions, and Chicken Maryland for tea. Got one nice picture of her, sitting on some fluffy grass, and also got another nice one a couple of days before, also down at 'the beach'. A couple of prints coming up, I think:

Happy days, Kandy!!

Looking good there and a bonus to reach this age by the sounds of things.  I know one has to be realistic but hope you get some more "bonus" time with her.  And, in fairness, 11 years for a large dog is a good expectancy and what one hopes for, although as we know they can and do live for longer.

Ours (a labrador) is 11 and has just passed her MoT on Friday but is definitely not as flexible and youthful as she was a couple of years ago.
