Not only digital zoom, but also heavily cropped, so the quality ain't all that. But still, I was happy just to get it.

Thanks Jeff, John, Tina, Wolf :) Yes, I was lucky to get them, but yesterday's heat made this one stop on one particular floral thingie long enough for me to fire off a few shots. Thanks for the info John - I'm not a lepidopteraphile myself, but it's always good to see 'em!

Wow, I've just read that link - how on EARTH does a butterfly manage to migrate from N Africa to Britain? It's hard enough for birds, but for an insect...

​I read recently that they might be here in large numbers this summer... I live in hope. I did see and photograph a couple last summer... non this summer so far. I can't remember which year it was, probably about ten years ago they were here in huge numbers.
