Thanks for all the comments, the original is all in focus, this was an experiment with a Tilt/Shift Effect to give the effect of it being in minature. I really quite like it, but not to everyones taste.

Thanks everyone, got to admit I like the crop Judy, I'd already croped the left hand side off, not sure why it didn't occur to me to crop some of  the top also.

This wasn't a plugin for Lightroom or any other graphics program, but rather a website: (It does have a limit on the max size you can download without subscribing. 2000px on the longest length)

It suggested using an image taken from higher up and this was the only one I had to try out, I believe you can get similar effects using a proper tilt/shift camera - alas the cheapest canon one is almost £1200 so won't be getting one soon.

I really like it Rye, must admit I did have to look twice. I thought it a scene from a model railway when first I glanced at it so the process does work.

Too much cropping and you lose the effect more and more. As a COMPOSITION the second works better. But as a MINIATURISATION ("Toy Effect"), the first one preserves the illusion much better. So it seems to me.
