Trying to Understand

On the way home, late this morning I chanced upon a familiar face...one I didn’t expect to see again, after our first chat a month or two back.

This very pleasant Chinese photographer was photographing our 18th Century local School House ....He was using a Leica.

He crossed the road to chat and to compare cameras....quite amusing really when you think that I have no Chinese and him a smattering of basic English words, but signs and gestures filled in where words failed.

Apparently he has relatives in town, so I hope to chat to him again soon.

It will not matter that you cannot speak each others language fooj, you will get on through the common interest !

I can regale many tales of being in europe when i first started driving trucks over there, had many good nights parked with Danes, Germans, Italians Potugese and Spanish drivers. None of us could speak each others tongue, but whoever I was with we seemed to get on well when out for a beer or a meal.

hope you hook up again with him, he has a friendly face :)
