He looks a bit grumpy, you probably woke him up. I look like that when I'm disturbed in the afternoon.

He wasn't in a cage ... just flying about  the woods  though there was a handler I saw some distance away who called him unsuccessfully a few times .  Not a night hunter though ... he  sleeps at night so  we do have  differing circadian habits it seems ...

Thanks Stravinsky ... I don't know anyone who doesn't just love  owls ... Barn owls are my favourite... ghostlike  apparitions ... only ever caught one on camera in the wild .

I went to the cotswold falconry centre earlier in the year, and they have a lot there

Yeah there's also a great place the other side of Ledbury ... the International Centre for  Birds of Prey...
