COMING OF AGE

Polly suggested that I post this here......

It is a watercolour painting of my granddaughter Lucy with her horse, Barney Bear, taken after taking part as an Eventer.......she has been horse mad since being a small child, and is currently at University training to be an Equine Vet.

Lucy will be 21 years old in a few weeks, this, when framed will be one of her gifts.

The project put a huge strain on me as an Artist, because both likenesses have to be accurate.....es0ecially the one of the horse, she would never forgive me if he didn't look right.

I'm so glad you have posted this on it's own thread Fooj as i think it's a fabulous watercolour of your grandaughter and deserves to be seen.... you must be very proud of her and she must be very proud of her artist Grandpa. What  a lovely gift for her 21st birthday .. a family heirloom in the making !

That is a lovely present for her Fuji - and a lovely painting too. I'm sure she will treasure that.
