I bought a hand held microscope that I can get on the pc.

I find that what I can see and capture is fascinating, being closer than macro you can see (as you would expect) much more.

the following images are of-

the remains of a small sea creature found in a coal deposit, could be upto 359 million years old, it is about 3mm in length, the orange rock is a grain of sand.

a small fly found on my window sill, around 1mm in length.

grains of sand.

bugs inside a flower, around half a millimetre in length.

Fantastic!  The detail is amazing.

I have a young friend who is disabled and has one, and does some moving ones.

Beats the ones that we used to have with a, mirror doesn't it.

This is something that our disabled friends on here could consider for when they can't get out and about.

Thank you for sharing.

judy, it is a dino-lite dremler. usb connection and software and away you go. took me age to decide as I wasn't sure as to what to get or even what the quality would be like, and the cost to justify, but I saw something similar on time team that they were using and a video on you tube so decided to take the gamble and get one. need a stand though, lot of shake when doing close up's, not micro.
