Ok as mentioned in another post, got hold of the WFT E5B ( Wireless File Transfer ), for my Canon 7D, and downloaded an App called ShutterSnitch, for the iPad & iPhone, as it allows the transfer of files over wifi network. Have the Camera set to take RAW & Jpegs, and only the Jpegs go across as you take the image, its great to see composition on something bigger than the camera screen. Also just found an old Mobile Wifi that I cancelled years ago, but works great as an access point so when im out and about, can still use the iPad to see images as I take them. It also allows SD wifi to connect to it, so will try my 5D Mkii with a wifi SD and CF converter to see how that goes as well. I can highly recommend the software, its great, only a few quid a month too, Has anyone else given it a go ??

Cokin ND1024 10 Stop Filter
stevedevil replied to stevedevil's topic in Equipment and Settings Advice
Im old school really, so take 15 camera bags, 2 tripods, a partridge in a pear tree lol Only have a few filters, ND 2 & 4, and Gradiant 2 & 4, so can get 1,2 & 3 stops with them altogether so the ND1024 at 10 stops will be fun to have a play with -
Cokin ND1024 10 Stop Filter

Glad to hear it, Still love shooting film, unfortunately my EOS5 has issues with the Mode Select Dial, its booked in for a new one in January Next Year, as would not power up, BUT today it burst into life, so Film ordered to throw in her and hope she behaves over Christmas. Will take the EOS5 with B&W film with me, as like pushing the film, saves on filters lol -
Being back in the Forum (again) I started looking through the Hard Drive(s) at some landscape's I have taken over the years, and loved to get long timed exposures of flowing water, but sometimes struggled to get a "Long Exposure" even with a couple of ND filters on the front, as still only equivalent to ND6 so 3 stops. So found myself in Youtube and looking at the Cokin ND1024 10 stop filter, and thought wow to some of the images with it, so being the festive time of year, Santa has got me one Cant wait to get some results with it, also as just ordered some Ilford B&W Film for the EOS5 that is alive again, Hope to get out over the break, if I can with all the restrictions Steve

Thanks Clicker, Yes quite an " Unpredicted " scare, but I guess most are, as to have warnings to such a thing we would all tear away quickly, Got some new gear coming for two reasons, 1- Why not 2- The wife indoors wants to learn so maybe a few posts from the both of us of the same image, with differing aspects on the image, I cant wait myself to see if she is better than me already lol Steve

Such a shame to hear of the loss of Korky, a very sad loss to the Forum, having a very mild stroke 10 weeks ago sure makes you wake up and take better care of yourself, Awaiting the arrival of some new gear, as don't ever need an excuse to get more, and will be taking them all on a good test run over Christmas, just hoping to get some deep frost or some snow :-) Cheers Gang Steve

Hi Gang, Been a member here since 2012, can't believe its that long, popped in and out over the years and wow how the years fly... Had a health scare 9 weeks ago, so in rehab and got the gear out again, and blew the dust off, and ordered some new gear too Its always been a lovely family here, and its the members that keep the site fresh and appealing, so as a member gonna stick around a bit and post some stuff when I get the chance. I still shoot film, mainly to push B&W film, but getting harder to get the images processed, hence second DSLR, a full frame that will only have B&W head on So thats me (again) Steve(devil)

Hi Gang, posting this here as there is no forum for "Gear" Talk, so sorry if its the wrong area Took the Plunge today and finally got a Full Frame DSLR, its an older EOS 5D MKii, as I have the 7D Mki which was released the same year, so cant wait for it to arrive from the favourite bidding site and as I have all L full frame lenses its gonna be nice seeing the difference in image size If anyone has advice on some settings for it, as well documented that the 9 sensors v 19 sensors for A/F and WB between the 5D and 7D can cause some issues, and that a 1/2 to full stop lower compensation helps and fix in Post Processing

Apple are not much better! their latest software update for the Mac's just decided to stop the EOS download programme, so could not access any CR2 images from Canon 7D, so spent hours attempting to delete the hard drive, and install the older version of software, took a couple of days, but now Mac complains every day that I have to do a software update.. AAARRGGHHHHH...

Yes I'm up for a meet, will need to plan ahead early as if a fair distance will, as most, use the whole weekend to tog :-)

A forum should be a place where good and bad feedback should be free to express, the main reason(s) that I ( Others ) may have stopped is that some ( Including admin and long posters ) get a little tetchy when a fair question is asked regarding posts and photo’s, and a forum should have good and fair responses to threads to attract others who may float in and have a read, as it helps us all learn more, and not be afraid to air a valid opinion, Anyway that said, I Know how tough it is to moderate a forum, so take my hat off to those involved in attempting to keep it running.. Will post a few images and see how it goes

Thanks gang, went to Scotland late last year and obviously took camera, will post a few

Hi Gang, Had a few discussions with a few mates that all tog lol, and screen calibration came up, so rather than say about the differences, I posted the Spyder Pro to each of them, still waiting for it back lol So had a thought if anyone bothers to still calibrate, or use the Calibration in Photoshop etc etc.. Also I could always post it to members on here if they wanted to try it and see if it makes any difference to their Screens ?? Cheers Steve

Hi Gang Seriously looking at adding a new lens to the family, and seem to keep swapping my 28-70mm f2.8 L Lens over when out to my Sigma 10-20mm DC, then back again So wondered if anyone has the EF16-35mm f4 L IS USM lens, and if this will be the sort of lens to stay on the Camera and stop all the swapping etc etc Just as a Landscape lens really ??? Or do we all just carry everything with us, just in case lol Cheers Steve
