  1. My best mate is from Bradford. When we were in a band we did some gigs there. People were mostly great, and the place was fascinating: some lovely buildings, but a lot of places were spectacularly bleak. It's on my list to visit for the day with my camera, but I haven't got round to it yet.
  2. I didn’t realise they were accommodation. What a cool place to live!
  3. Messing around with my 100-400mm lens yesterday and caught a couple of lovely shots of my dog (although of course I know I'm biased when it comes to how beautiful she is). And the final one was with the Viltrox 13mm F/1.4
  4. I had a wander around this place at the weekend while my wife was at a show up the road. It’s fantastic, I absolutely loved it there: I enjoyed the exhibits and the sculptures, and just the general vibe of the place was really relaxing. I’ll be going back for sure, and taking my wife with me too. These were taken with my Fuji X-T4 and a mixture of Fuji XF 35mm F/1.4 & XF 16-80mm F/4, Viltrox 13mm F/1.4 and TTArtisan 27mm F/2.8.
  5. That’s a lovely photo. I’m so sorry for your loss John.
  6. Very sorry for your loss, John. All the best to you and your family x
  7. Cracking images! I love seeing the kites when I travel for work. I used to only see them on the M4 corridor, but as mentioned they're spreading now. Still haven't seen any here in Essex yet (although my mum has, about 30 miles north of me). I'm still waiting to see one when I have my camera and long lens... doesn't sound like it'll be too much longer before they're here too.
  8. Very sorry about your wife John, that’s a hard thing to go through. Much love to you.
  9. Wow, that's impressive! Nicely done
  10. Nice! I think I prefer the mono version; I think it would look good with a bit of colour but almost desaturated so it's only very slightly green.
  11. It certainly is! So big in fact that the support towers are further apart at the top than they are at the bottom, due to the curvature of the earth Lovely shot, and fantastic sky
  12. Me too, very atmospheric
  13. So picturesque… a calming place to stop for a refreshing break on a long journey…
  14. Stunning! I had a moody sky in front of my house when the sun set last night... I've entered this into a competition on another site; the theme for this month is "Silhouettes".
  15. In hindsight, the first shot is the only one I should have posted. The other two were for a guitar forum actually, so they were more "look at my new guitar" than "look at this photo I took" Thanks!
  16. I think it might be Pleiades, but I'm not sure.
  17. Feels like properly clear nights have been somewhat rare around here recently. There was one the other night, so I got a couple of shots. Both with my X-T4; the wide one was a 13 second exposure with the Viltrox 13mm F/1.4 (ISO 320), and the shot of Orion was handheld with the Fuji 35mm F/1.4, 1/4 second at ISO 8000.
  18. Thanks Polly. I haven't got time to watch that right now but I've added it to my watch later list...
  19. No I agree Polly. It's actually my duvet, I used it because it's dark and contrasted with the guitar. Never thought of sheet music, that's a great idea! I've used the grass in the garden before too, but that's a bit wet at the moment
  20. I sold this to my friend a couple of years ago, and it was one of those ones where I regretted it almost immediately. Thankfully, he decided to sell it and gave me first refusal, so I snapped his hand off! Won't be letting it go again Thought I'd treat it to some glamour shots All shot with my Fujifilm X-T4 & Viltrox 13mm F/1.4.
  21. Same here! I’m like it with guitars too, although again at the moment I feel like I’m in a place where I have everything I need… we’ll see how long that lasts!
  22. Thanks Fogey! I sold my X-T30 and X-T1 to MPB, and bought a second-hand X-T4 from Park Cameras. Lens-wise I sold the 7Artisans 35mm F0.95 to MPB, and bought the Fuji 35mm F1.4, again used, from LCE. I think (although I'm making no promises!) that I'm sorted now, and the GAS may have departed for a while...
  23. Trading in cameras & lenses over Xmas, so I took a few test shots at various times. There's no theme to these, but I like them all so I thought I'd share
  24. Met a friend for coffee just before NYE, and while we were out we had a wander round the city centre. I'd just got the Fuji XF 35mm F1.4, so I was keen to try it out. Lovely lens! (and yes, it still feels weird referring to Southend as a city!)
