Very strange looking creature. I guess the pink adult flamingos are also strange looking.

This is a beautiful image. Love the pastel rendering. What program did you use to do that?

Trapdoor Spider. Photo taken with my 500mm lens as it was not keen on posing for a shot with my macro lens. When I tried to get closer, I glanced away for a second and when I turned back its door was closed with no trace of it. The door (above the burrow n this photo) has a rounded sandstone on the top.
When we were school kids, these spiders lived down the back behind the peppercorn trees where the clay soil was hard and uncared for. We poured our government provided morning milk down the burrows and run off screaming if they came running out. I’m not proud of it.- 1

I always enjoy reading your posts, Fuji, and appreciate your approach to life and your art.

Lovely. I like the simplicity and textural effect.

Thank you so much, Mikbone. That’s great to know.

Good question. Certainly a pest in its caterpillar form. Probably a pollinator in its butterfly form.
Thanks Fogey. -

Goodness me, there were some great photos to choose pic of the week from this week. well done, all of you. I loved mikbone's "reflection" and give it a highly commended award but have chosen Ryewolf's dramatic monochromatic photo of the River Dee river at night - at least it looks like it was taken at night; perhaps it was not and Ryewolf has given it a clever night processing. Well done, Ryewolf.

Beautiful landscape. How lucky you are to be close enough to walk your dog there in the mornings.

What’s not to like about both these? Great photos. The people walking down the lane were helpful additions.

Great set. The file size on your iPhone is much larger than my old iPhone 6s. I assume the file size can be reduced if needed.

I love this shot, Ryewolf. The mono suits it giving an added drama.

They look great altogether with their colours.
