Good luck mate, We had a power failure here for a few hours on the 29th Dec, being without the internet for just those hours was...harrowing! Good grief, I didnt realise just how much I rely on being connected, or comes to that having basic electricity! If water gets in BT's equipment, surely thats their fault!
  2. Can someone please tell me if this is suitable for my D3000? I'm getting confused by the several different types of 50mm lenses available, one of these is up for sale locally and is quite cheap considering!

A fascinating set of articles for which i for one thank you. I am 'in the market' for either a secondhand 35 0r 50mm prime lens for my D3000, I understand there are one or two different ones to obtain.Although, I am quite happy with my 18-55 kit lens for the Nikon, being this is my first dslr type camera, it will probably have to do me for quite a few years as cash is tight all round. I would like a 50mm for general work though, and the bonus of it being a tad faster,
  5. Again, superb. Congrats Mr F :respect:

Crikey! I have done something right at last:) Thank you very much! I was not feeling in the best of health due to a serious bout of man-flu so for some fresh air decided on a late afternoon walk down the Stort. I had a feeling the late afternoon sunlight would look good at this spot. Out of three images I took, I settled on this one to keep. Settings-Manual/ F3.5 / ISO 400 / focal length 18mm / 35mm equivelant-27mm More or less straight out of the camera except for a tweak on the shadows in lighting using 'FastStone'

    Not again!

Thanks all, No, she isnt hurt thankfully, just tearful and cross because her pride and joy has been dented. We just cannot believe that the same thing has happened again. I keep threatening to get her one of these to go to work in.....

    Not again!

A few months ago my wife was driving home and got hit from behind by a BMW writing off her beloved Toyota. We found a temporary car which cost us a fortune in repairs. Three weeks ago we bought her a nice three year old Puegeot 207 with just 20,000 on the clock. She was driving home tonight when she got hit from behind on the same roundabout just half a mile from home ......by a BMW. I give up!
  17. Interesting, as I was about to buy a class 10 card......
