I struggled to get a decent shot of this Goldfinch, 300mm was not enough zoom and the image has been cropped as well.

Had a few in the garden the other day, but they always stay right at the top of the tallest conifer. I have got feeders out for them bit they never come down from the flipping conifer!

Annie... they will take normal bird seed but their favourite in Niger seed, it's very small and you need special feeders though. I'm surprised they stay in the top of the trees when they can see other birds feeding, one would think they would be tempted as well.

Yep, I have niger seed out in the proper feeders...but the little devils just flit from conifer to conifer.

Nice pic and wonderful colours John,though looking at the larger image it does look like the NR is a little over done for ISO400.
