It's very easy to fill the frame when these large greedy birds are at the feeders. The overcast light helped with the detail.

A fantasic shot......the detail is excellent:

 

My missus hates Pigeons with a vengeance....but I say.....Live and Let Live.........they cant shop at a supermarket.

 

I have noted that our bird table has a strict pecking order....Pigeons and Jackdaws first, followed by a Starling or two, then the Robin, followed by a couple of Sparrows and Blue Tits.

They are a real pest in my neck of the woods, I often feel like shooting them with a gun not a camera.

Whilst these birds are an absolute nuisance around my way, I cannot deny that the colour and detail in the shot are just great. The bird stands out well against the background.

Chris... I've never heard of a Wood Pigeon being called a Dove... unlike Collard Doves, Turtle Doves, Rock Doves and Stock Doves etc. There is no strict division between pigeons and doves though, I grant you that...
