any pictures you never take?

are there ever pictures you just don't take?

my one are forests, every one I take are just rubbish, so I tend not to try, I was out with a photography student the other week teaching her about camera settings, this is one she liked but i loathed

any good?

Hmm, forests? The main problem is exposure, to maintain detail in the trees means your sky will blow.

Portraits Leon......not because I don't feel confident enough but simply down to peoples vanity.

They want this or that airbrushing out , use this or that software to make them look slimmer or darker or lighter.....lol

By the time you've done it looks nothing like them in real life but they're happy because you have made them believe they're not bad looking......give me strength

It's why I love street photography for people shots as there's no pose or pretense.....just WYSIWYG.

Children would be the only exception as most don't understand the concept of vanity.

I avoid taking people, if at all possible... I'm just don't find anything interesting in it.

weddings, as the main photographer. Did our friends wedding in September but only in addition to the pro tog who actually had the same lens as Heather and a not much better camera than the pair of us lol. I just dont want the pressure of capturing the special day

oh yep i hadnt thought of that, i wont do weddings as an official photographer, just not good enough yet

So how are you going to improve of you won't take pictures of "difficult" subjects?

I do tend to take pictures of things that inspire me.

But I also look for a challenge, to try and take/make something from the things that don’t inspire me and often the end result can be as if not more satisfying –

Leon don’t give up on the trees but maybe think a little more about the composition?

Everyone knows that I really don't like milky waterfalls or seas........I also audibly GROAN if I see yet another shot of that single tree on the rock pavement on't Moors.......Oh! Yes, and that causeway on Lake Windermere?........Vehicle Light Trails......and....and...........

Just realised I never actually answered the question.

There is nothing I won't try to be honest. I suppose the one thing that would worry me slightly is a wedding shoot.

My sister is getting married (again) next year and while I don't expect to be asked to do the main shoot I will be there getting some much needed experience.
