This Rabbit allowed me to get much closer than normal......it was eating bracken on the other side of a wire fence on our local Common........hence my title.

That's lovely.

Was it on the ground near the castle?

Hi, Nanny,

You didnt read my title;-)

I,m not sure if you are aware of, Kenilworth Common?

A large area of hilly, wooded heathland, the soil is very sandy and gravelly, the trees interspersed with bracken and scrub like Broom and other heathland plants. In the dark and distant past, it was rhe Common, where the local population could freely graze animals, collect kindling, sand, and gravel......it has also been a very popular natural childrens adventure playground for generations of Kenilworth kids.......there used to be a fantastic Cyclocross track there.

Nowadays, kids only go there accompanied or not at all, it's a Designated Nature Reserve,.......besides the rabbits and squirrels it has Adders, Slow Worms and Lizards, plus much more.

It isnt good for folks with poor mobility, even though the main path through is an official Cycleway, all the way through to Warwick University........there are no facilities on the Common, just wildlife and scrub........I walk there and back five or six times a month with an old school mate, we oldies need the excercise ;-)

I don't know the common at all Fuj. I used to cycle to the castle when I was young, but only started going there again in recent years, so I don't know the area too well at all.
It may have to wait until next year until my knee is stronger and less painful if the ground is un-even.
