Cemetery Tree

HI Matt,

This is a great image,I've tried similar compositions of big old trees a few times.Even though they are very  photogenic, I  find  remarkable difficulty getting interesting results up close for some reason.Maybe I've just been unlucky with the lighting and background. You managed it well,I like the ivy.

Regards Les.

I was a little lucky with this tree.  As I walked past the sun just happened to come out and light it from a perfect angle.  There a few more trees similar to this at the cemetery, so hopefully more shots will be posted soon.

As for the processing, to get the detail in the bark I used 3 exp from one RAW to pull out all I could, then controlled to the saturation and highlights in LR5 so it didn't look too HDRish.
