Or - Matt wanted some blur in the water so selected a small aperture and a low ISO.

 

I'd be interested in seeing the original, single RAW image processed in Lightroom without the extra (fake) exposures being (fake) HDR'd.

I'd wager the result would be as good or better...unless you were after a HDR look that is.

Yeah, I did type .8 second....that's not right, but neither is 8 sec?!  Am at work now but will check raw when I get in, from memory it was around 2 seconds with a filter to blur the water.

 

The light was very flat due to being overcast, I processed in photomatix to get some sort of dynamism (is that a word!) to the image.  Didn't spend to much time on the the single raw as I could the end result would have been disappointing.

Sounds a bit more like it Matt, keep the HDR coming nice work.

BLUR? That's frozen solid, to milk!!!!

 

Apart from that, I'm not too sure about the HDR in this - it gives a kind of 'flat' look to the picture, without enough areas of light and dark. It's a nice composition though :)
