THE PAIN & CONCENTRATION

Another study from our Tattoo Parlour  shoot on Tuesday, the colour version is OK but a bright wimdow and background clutter took away the essence, so here (hopefully)  I have created a  much stronger mono version that emphasises the two main  players.

Because of low light and not being able to use flash, there is motion blur on the tattooists arm as he rapidly  rubs away surplus ink, or applies surgical spirit, this seems to add to the sharp emphasis on his own amazing Tattoos and distinctive  features.

The tissue immediately behind his black-gloved hands caused me to ponder, I did try darkening the area, but that made his black rubber gloves look weird, so I applied a little Gaussian Blur to soften its edges.

It was amazing to gain full access to a working Tattoo Artist and his Client........... :yes

I missed this one completely, Fooj.

I agree, it does work so well in mono - the head tattoos stand out brilliantly.

Doesn't change my views on the practice though - I'm old and I'm not meant to understand.
