Went out for firewood this morning, and stopped in St Arnaud to take a picture of the lovely green grass in the park:

Then we noticed something moving, low down, so I went to have a closer look, and saw this:

Awww!! How cute - Muscovy Duck Mum, keeping an eye one me, saying 'C'mon kids, follow me, we're going for a swim'!!

People do regularly feed the ducks in this garden, where there is a lovely little lake, too :D

Barbara, it was the beautiful grass that caught our eye. It is a well maintained park, and just now is the EXACT OPPOSITE to our home landscape!!

Hahaha, Heather, there is quite an 'English' feel about bits of this little town, especially this park and its surroundings.

Deirdre! I didn't know there was any grass left. I honestly can't remember the last time we had any meaningful rain. We missed out on the 25mm that they had in Wedderburn 2 weeks ago.

It gives you a warm fuzzy feeling to see shots like this. Nice!

I especially like the composition of picture #1

nice picture Dee, we have quite a lot of mum ducks and chicks around here ( or will in a month or so).

A couple of years ago new neighbour thought feeding the ducks on their front lawn was a cute thing to do, I said she might wish she hadn't, she said I was being mean.

After the Duck family and several others kept 'quacking' rather loudly at 5.00am under their bedroom window they said I had a point - never seen them do it since  :yes
