Coping with heat

When you think of it, we're a selfish lot!

When it's cold we huddle round the fire; when it's hot we flop about in front of the air-con.

Yesterday, after spending a terrifying hour at the Dentist, I went for a stroll (in the car, it was too hot for much walking) round a local lake. It's one of the few places where the wildlife can get a sort of break from this terrible heat wave. You could see the stress on the poor little things. All the birds were just sitting there in any little bit of shade, with their beaks open. Presumably that's how they cope with the heat. They were all doing it.

So perhaps we should spare them a thought when sipping on that frosty beer; or hugging that steaming mug of Ovaltine!

The Australian Open has finally come round to accept it may be too hot to play in.

It would be unfair to ask anyone to perform in weather like this.

Only 1 day to go. They promise a change later today. Eureka!!!!!

Me too. :(

Me too! :phew:
