Winter morning on the cut

This is a residential mooring near Dudley. I've not done much B&W so whats the consensus, Colour or B&W

Congratulations Terry, because you gave achieved a double in my opinion .....why?.....Because the light in your photograph is near perfect it brings each version to life, the colour one in a natural way, showing the boat, passengers and surroundings in a perfect way.

The mono version also gains from that perfect, directional light, that enhances all the tones, contrasts and textures, making it a real work of, Fine Art Photography.

I would quite happily hang either on my walls.........should you want me to choose?

I can't decide between the two, the both look fabulous in their own right

Me too - I like them both, a lot. It's a perfect subject for B&W and also for colour.

Both great photos and it's a difficult choice. I'm going to say I like the mono version best only because it tones down that car and traffic cone that intrude into the shot.

The colour version is a very nice capture, I like the lighting...   Thank goodness I don't see the world in black & white so I'll leave those that do to comment.

I love the colour one, well I did until I looked at the mono one, and then I was stuck for choice as I like them both equally.

agree with everyone else that they are both excellent but for me the colour one just has the edge

Colour for me suprisingly

Love the smoke it gives it more life than the static boat shots you see
