Hubby got a 'new toy' today, a Nikon P520, and he wanted to take a few test shots. We took the girls out for a walk, saw them react rather 'jumpily' and I found this, so I picked him up and we used him as a subject. I have cropped them a bit, but deliberately left my fingers in, so you can get an idea of his size. A baby Shingleback:

It goes without say that I put him back in the area we found him, in a safe place :D

PS: he was rather nervous and piddled on my hands!!!!!

Thanks, all. Denny, where we live is often referred to as 'Lizard Country' and we do have a lot of reptile activity. We love it, not everyone can see what we do on a walk around our block! You are bound to see more like this as our weather warms up Lizards make good subjects because they 'freeze' when you approach them. :D

H'mm, don't think so Heather. David has several other interests, but he borrowed a camera like this from a friend and was very impressed, so he decided to update while we can. I'll probably be having a play with it too.

Tina, this was the first day he had it, so a bit to go yet! The Shinglebacks grow to about 15-16 inches at maturity, and it was another one I posted recently, but that was a young one too, but not as young as this.

Thanks for the comments.
